    About Ontario’s Thousand Islands

    The U.S. rate stamp features an aerial photograph of the Thousand Islands in Ontario by Canadian photographer Ian Coristine. It shows part of the Admiralty Islands, a grouping of islands in Thousand Islands National Park, near Gananoque, Ontario.

    The Thousand Islands are a group of some 1,800 islands in the St. Lawrence River, straddling the Canada–U.S. border in southeastern Ontario. between Kingston and Brockville. Popular for sightseeing and outdoor recreation, the islands are often explored by boat cruise, kayak, canoe or helicopter tour.
